Genmai Cha” also written Genmaicha, means natural rice tea.
This very special tea is made blending Bancha leaves with brown rice.
This tea used to be poor peoples tea in Japan as the price was reduced by adding rice to the Bancha which deprecated the price. These days this tea is consumed by all segments of society.
